Manufactured Quartz Products

Quartz products such as Silestone, Hanstone, Formica Stone and Avanza are man-made products that have comparable properties to granite. These quartz products are made with colorants, epoxies and about 94% - 97% quartz.

The primary advantage of quartz products is the variety and consistency of colors, many of which are not available in natural granite, especially lighter colors and vibrant colors like reds and blues. The colors of natural granite, which is quarried directly from the Earth, tend to be darker earth tones and are impossible to control. Natural granite is often variegated and speckled, with samples only truly representing the slab from which the sample was cut. With manufactured quartz products, the color sample you see in our showroom is truly representative of the color you get.

Quartz products are also worry free! You can clean them with household cleaners and warm soapy water, and their surface is non-porous making it highly resistant to stains, burning or scorching. However, as advised by Crockpot® and electric skillet manufacturers, do not place these items directly on any countertop. Always use trivets when placing hot items on a quartz product surface to avoid thermal shock. Quartz products are NOT indestructible however, so avoid harsh chemicals, excessive force and heat exposure to keep your quartz product surface looking beautiful.
